The Waitstaff is responsible for providing professional, high-quality service to guests in the café environment. This role includes greeting guests, accurately taking and delivering orders, providing menu information, and maintaining a clean and organized dining area. Through direct interaction with guests and colleagues, the Waitstaff helps create a pleasant customer experience and contributes to the overall performance of the café.

Responsibilities

  • Greet guests warmly and professionally upon arrival.
  • Engage with guests to take orders, make menu recommendations, and explain available options.
  • Handle guest concerns and escalate issues to the café manager or relevant personnel when necessary.
  • Maintain full knowledge of the café menu, ingredients, and coffee brewing methods.
  • Inform guests of allergens or dietary sensitivities when relevant.
  • Coordinate with bar and kitchen staff to ensure accurate and timely order processing.
  • Deliver food and beverages promptly and professionally to guests’ tables.
  • Maintain composure and a courteous attitude, even during peak hours or busy shifts.
  • Communicate guest feedback and suggestions regarding menu items or service quality to the manager.
  • Demonstrate professionalism in all interactions with guests and team members.
  • Monitor the cleanliness of the café and coordinate with the cleaning team when needed.
  • Keep the workspace, tables, chairs, and public areas neat, tidy, and properly equipped.

Qualifications

  • Menu Knowledge | Familiarity with all menu items, ingredients, and preparation methods.
  • Coffee Knowledge | Understanding of different coffee varieties and brewing techniques.
  • Communication Skills | Ability to interact clearly, effectively, and warmly with guests and colleagues.
  • Customer Service Skills | Commitment to delivering high-quality service and addressing guest needs with patience and care.
  • Multitasking Ability | Capacity to manage guest service, order handling, and area maintenance simultaneously.
  • Professional Demeanor | Maintaining a respectful and calm presence in all situations.
  • Physical Ability | Able to lift and carry items up to 3 kg safely.
  • Stamina | Comfortable standing and walking for extended periods.
  • Flexibility | Willingness to work in rotating shifts and adapt to scheduling needs.
  • Problem-Solving Skills | Ability to quickly identify issues and provide effective solutions.
